Win Taekwondo Academy was founded in October 2018 by Master Winston Casaclang, a 6th Dan Black Belt and Kukkiwon certified instructor.

As a club registered under British Taekwondo, the National Governing Body for World Taekwondo (WT) in the UK, we are proud to be affiliated with key organizations, including the British Olympic Association (BOA), World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) (formerly known as the European Taekwondo Union), and recognized by UK Sport and Sport England.

At Win Taekwondo Academy, we offer classes designed to accommodate practitioners of all levels, from beginners to experienced athletes.

Whether you are new to the sport or looking to refine your skills, we welcome you to join us and experience the discipline and dedication that Taekwondo has to offer.

We are dedicated to inspiring our students to live life to the fullest and to pass on the knowledge and experience we’ve acquired throughout our journey in the sport.

We offer classes suitable for all levels—whether you're new to Taekwondo or already have experience, we welcome everyone to join our community and embark on a path of personal growth and achievement.

OUR INSTRUCTORS

MASTER WINSTON CASACLANG

Master Winston Casaclang is a 6th Dan Kukkiwon-certified Black Belt with over 40 years of experience in Taekwondo, having joined the sport in 1986.

Throughout his journey, he has trained alongside Olympic and British National athletes in Kyorugi (competitive sparring), and was a former London Region Fighter in the (-54 kg) finweight category.

Master Winston’s competitive accomplishments include being the British Student Taekwondo Federation Champion in Kyorugi from 1994 to 1996, and securing a bronze medal at the Chung Do Kwan Opens in Washington D.C. in 1997.

After his years in Kyorugi, Master Winston transitioned to Poomsae, and in 2009, he was selected for the GBR Poomsae Squad. Since then, he has earned his Class B Poomsae Judging Qualification and has represented Great Britain in several prestigious international competitions.

In 2013, he was part of the GB Poomsae Team at the World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) Poomsae Championships in Alicante, Spain, where he reached the finals in the team event.

Master Winston also represented England at the 2014 Commonwealth Taekwondo Union (CTU) Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, winning Gold in the team event and Silver in his individual category.

In 2015, he claimed Gold at the Berlin Poomsae Opens, defeating top-ranked European players.

Master Winston is has won the British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championship title in 2023 for his individual category.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Master Winston is a certified and approved instructor with British Taekwondo, holding a DBS Enhanced Check (formerly CRB) and is fully trained and certified in Child Protection and Level 2 Coaching Qualification.

He also holds club insurance through British Taekwondo, ensuring a safe and professional training environment for all students.

COACH MELISSA CASACLANG

With over 35 years of experience in Taekwondo, Coach Melissa is a highly accomplished practitioner and instructor, holding a 4th Dan Kukkiwon Black Belt.

She has a decorated competitive history, including being an 8-time British Taekwondo National Poomsae Champion in both individual and team categories.

Coach Melissa has also represented Team GB on the world stage, competing at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Seoul (2007) and Ankara (2008), as well as the World Taekwondo Europe Poomsae Championships in Turku (2005) and Antalya (2008).

In addition to her successful career as a competitor, Coach Melissa has been a key figure in British Taekwondo, serving as the former Southern Regional Technical Coach for Poomsae and winning Gold at several prestigious international events, including the Belgium, Dutch, and Portuguese Poomsae Opens.

As an experienced coach, she brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to her students, focusing on developing both technical skills and competitive excellence. Certified in British Taekwondo's Instructor’s Course, Coach Melissa is also accredited in Child Protection, with an enhanced DBS check and CPD training.

In her current role as the club’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), she ensures a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Coach Melissa’s commitment to Taekwondo extends beyond individual achievement; her passion for teaching, safeguarding, and advancing the sport is at the core of her work. She continues to inspire athletes, helping them realize their full potential while fostering respect, discipline, and perseverance through Taekwondo.

COACH ROMMEL CASACLANG

With over 40 years of Taekwondo experience, Coach Rommel is a seasoned martial artist and instructor who joined the sport in 1986.

A former London Region Fighter in the (-58 kg) flyweight category, he has a proven track record of success as both a national and international medallist.

Coach Rommel is a 3rd Dan Kukkiwon certified Black Belt and holds a Level 2 Coaching Qualification.

He is fully certified by British Taekwondo, with enhanced DBS clearance, and has completed Child Protection training. In his role as the club's Safeguarding and Welfare Officer, he ensures a safe and supportive training environment for all students.

Since the opening of Win Taekwondo Academy in October 2018, Coach Rommel has been a key pillar of the team, working closely with athletes to help them reach their full potential.

His expertise and commitment to the sport ensure that each student performs to the best of their ability, fostering not only technical excellence but also discipline, respect, and perseverance in their Taekwondo journey.

Annual Membership and Insurance for British Taekwondo

Every individual training at a British Taekwondo-affiliated club, from beginners to Olympic athletes, is required to be a member of British Taekwondo.

This ensures you are part of the only Taekwondo organization in the UK accredited by both World Taekwondo and the British Olympic Committee.

By joining British Taekwondo, you gain access to high-quality, internationally recognized Taekwondo instruction and a structured pathway to competition and advancement.

As a member, you’re not only part of a proud tradition, but you also have the opportunity to train, compete, and grow within the most established Taekwondo network in the UK.

Monthly Training Fees for Juniors

(4-13 Years Old)

As a member of Win Taekwondo Academy, you are entitled to two training sessions per week: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM.

These sessions are designed to provide focused training to help you progress at your own pace.

Please note that the fee for grading or belt promotion tests is not included in the regular training fees.

As a member of Win Taekwondo Academy, you are entitled to two training sessions per week: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:50 PM to 7:50 PM.

Quarterly Grading Fee (Belt Promotion) for Kup Grades

The fee for the Belt Promotion Test applies to students who are eligible to participate in our quarterly gradings. This fee covers the cost of the grading process and includes:

An official Win Taekwondo Academy Kup grade certificate, fully approved by British Taekwondo.

The promotional belt for successful candidates.
